Cécile Cordon

Cécile Cordon , also Waltraud Cécile Cordon , (born September 1, 1939 in Graz ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ), actress and author . From April 2001 to November 2005 she was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council . She is the chairwoman of a non-profit association for social and cultural projects in Eastern Europe, which she founded in May 2004. As an author, she has published numerous books and texts in literary magazines.

Life

Cécile Cordon moved to the FRG in 1961 and worked as an actress at various German theaters. In addition, she worked as a speech technology teacher at drama schools in Munich. In 1975 she returned to Austria and worked as an actress for film, television and theater. She directed "Damen-Wahl" for the Wiener Festwochen (1986) and a year later Edna O'Brien's "Virginia", which she also produced.

Cécile Cordon was District Councilor in Leopoldstadt from 1991 to 2001, then a member of the Vienna State Parliament and member of the Vienna City Council until 2005. From 2002 to 2005 she was also the spokesperson for the Green Seniors.

Her social commitment includes the founding of the non-profit association Confinis for social and cultural projects in Eastern Europe, a center for children of drug addicts and / or HIV-positive parents, as well as an aid project for children with disabilities in Moldova.
