The Kaiserinsel ( Czech Císařský ostrov ) is a river island in the Vltava in the northern part of Prague . With an area of 66 hectares, it is the largest island in Prague. The western part of the island is occupied by the central sewage treatment plant of the city of Prague, which was put into operation there in 1967.

The Imperial Island hit the headlines on December 2, 2017 when the 260-meter-long Trojská lávka , which opened in 1984 and connected the island with the northern district of Troy , collapsed .
