C-Jam
C-Jam is an Estonian music group in which four cellists play together. The group has existed since 2004.
The cello quartet combines the music of the classical string quartet with improvisational big band style and many well-known rock music titles. Her repertoire mainly includes cover versions of some songs by Muse , Queen , Bryan Adams , Weather Girls , Nirvana , AC / DC , Status Quo and others. v. a. The musicians arrange the tracks themselves.
The quartet consists of the following musicians: Pärt Tarvas, Levi-Danel Mägila, Margus Uus and Tõnu Jõesaar.
The musicians are classically trained and play the cello in the Eesti Riiklik Sümfooniaorkester , Estonia's leading symphony orchestra.
C-Jam has performed at various festivals including the Tallinn City Chamber Music Festival, Festival of Soul Music, Academy of Masters, Toompea Music Salon, and the Festival of the Seven Cities. Concert tours have taken the group to Latvia, Russia and Belgium.
At the opening of the European Cultural Summer 2014 in Fellbach, they appeared alongside other artists and bands as an Estonian contribution, including in front of the Estonian Minister of Culture Urve Tiidus .
In March 2017, C-Jam was represented at the Estonian Culture Days in Berlin .
