C. Flimm is a German company specializing in wine and spirits .

history

The founder of C. Flimm KG, Carl Flimm, opened three specialty shops for wine and spirits in Cologne in 1921 (Hosengasse, Blaubach at the corner of Perlengraben and Aachenerstraße). In 1928, the company produced its own specialty spirits according to recipes it had designed itself and marketed them under the advertising slogan "Kölsche Mädche, Kölsche Funke, han immer jän ne Flimm jedrunke" in Cologne on the right bank of the Rhine. In the Mönchhof winery in Uerzig, Carl Flimm founded his own winery and winery in 1934 , which was closed again in 1952. During World War II, all three retail stores were completely destroyed. Since reopening after the war was not advisable because all food companies and retail stores have now received unrestricted concessions, the company mainly focused on wholesale , retail and catering .

After the Flimm company was converted into a limited partnership (KG) in 1950, the new gastric schnapps Kabänes, introduced in 1952, developed with the slogans "Der Halbbitter vom Rhein" , "Order the beer, Kabänes Dir." and "The caravan moves on ... Kabänes moves with it." a popular spirit in Cologne and the surrounding area. Originally the word Kabänes means something like friend , buddy or also a splendid specimen . Over the years, new special brands have been introduced again and again.

The son of the company founder, Otto Flimm , became a general partner of the KG in 1957 . Carl Flimm, son of Otto Flimm, joined the KG in 1992 and was the third generation to run the family business . When the company was transformed into a GmbH & Co. KG in 2003, Carl Flimm became a managing partner . Five years later the spirits offer was further extended by new specialties, in particular through the Flimm Woodruff 11 (2008), the Bärbelchen with passion fruit -flavored (2014) and the glitter Pitter (2017).
