Carneval-Club-Korpskommando-Koblenz 1968

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Carneval-Club-Korpskommando-Koblenz 1968 e. V. (CCKK) is one of the oldest still existing carnival clubs of the Bundeswehr . The association was founded on January 9, 1968 by the then commanding general of the III. Corps , Lieutenant General Albert Schnez , founded. The CCKK is a registered association with a recognized charitable status. The name no longer says anything about belonging to a certain command authority, it was retained for reasons of tradition.

Founding history

With the founding of the association, Lieutenant General Albert Schnez continued an age-old tradition: Almost 200 years ago, General Neidhardt von Gneisenau recognized that participation in the Rhenish tradition had a positive effect on the population's acceptance of the garrison and ordered the participation of the Prussian army music at the carnival parades in the area. General Schnez's intention was somewhat different: with the CCKK, he created an instrument to offer the soldiers who were transferred to the Koblenz-Lahnstein location the opportunity to integrate themselves through Rhenish customs and was thus already in the field of care and support in 1968 Caring that is becoming increasingly important today.

The neck order of the CCKK

The first neck order of the Carnevals Club Corps Command was too similar to the order of the Prussian military order " Pour le Mérite ". This led to a scandal with the "official" order of the Knights of the Pour le Merite under the presidency of the aviator general Theo Osterkamp at that time, whereupon the neck order had to be changed in 1968. In this modified form, it is still awarded to the members today.

The club today

With the establishment of the Army Command (HFüKdo), the CCKK subordinated itself to it in its statutes. In 2013 the subordination to the medical service command of the Bundeswehr took place because the army was relocated to Strausberg. The CCKK is open to anyone interested, primarily at the Koblenz - Lahnstein location . The members are stationed worldwide. The focus of the work is still on looking after members of the armed forces at the Koblenz-Lahnstein location. Among other things, the association provides relatives of soldiers on duty with free ticket contingents for the traditional CCKK meeting in the soldiers' leisure home. Interested parties can take part in the events, receptions or meetings during the carnival session through the CCKK. As part of the member support, there are fish meals on Ash Wednesday, hiking days, barbecues, one-day or multi-day trips and regular meetings to maintain contacts.

The CCKK actively supports the inspector of the medical service at his own events, especially at the prince presentation in October / November and when the armed forces are stormed on the Friday before Shrove Monday. The CCKK is the link between the inspector and the Koblenz Carnival Association (AKK) and the affiliated associations.

In 2015 the CCKK thematized with the motto “From Gneisenau to Kowelenz olau” 200 years of Prussia in Koblenz and thus also pointed to its historical origin.

Presentation to the public

At all events, the CCKK is perceived and presented by the media as the Bundeswehr. So part of his job is public relations. For the associations of the AKK, the members of the CCKK are again and again the contact for all questions in connection with the workplace in the Bundeswehr.

membership

In principle, the association is open to all active and former members of the armed forces, as well as friendly armed forces, upon request. People close to the Bundeswehr can also join the association. Interest in Rhenish customs, camaraderie, cheerfulness and sociability, but also, if possible, active participation are the prerequisites for living and experiencing the carnival with the CCKK.

background information

Presentation of the prince to the Bundeswehr Medical Service Inspector (Oct / Nov): At the time of the French occupation, the French city commandant insisted that the prince be introduced to him at the next session. It is not known whether he ever turned down a candidate. Following this tradition, since the founding of the association, Prinz and Confluentia have been presented to the highest military representative in the garrison. This is the first official appearance of the madnesses of the upcoming session.

Storming the command: Another old tradition that is now also maintained in other locations. The carnival guards take over the administration and administration for three days. So on Friday after a heavy Thursday or Weiberfastnacht, the foolish guards of the AKK on the side of Prince and Confluentia storm the Rhine festival in Koblenz, which is defended by the Bundeswehr services (the Bundeswehr authority building, seat of the Federal Office for Equipment, Information and Communication Technology of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw)). The president of the BAAINBw and the inspector are of course strongly supported by “their” house guard, the CCKK. Despite the finest ingenious tactics, it has only been possible to achieve at least one draw so far. This was achieved under Lieutenant General Wolfgang Otto as Commander in 2009.
