T-cell surface glycoprotein CD1e, membrane-associated is a surface protein .

properties

It is among others in cortical thymocytes , Langerhans cells , dendritic cells , in some T cell leukemias formed. CD1E modulated in the course of the adaptive immune response , the antigen presentation of diacylated lipid -, lipopeptide - and glycolipid - antigens (including phosphatidylinositols and Sulfoglykolipide ) by the other CD1 variants compared to the T-cell receptors . The membrane-bound form of CD1e is inactive. In addition to lipids, it also binds to beta-2 microglobulin . CD1 is glycosylated and has disulfide bridges .
