Carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule 5 (synonym CEACAM5 , CD66e ) is a surface protein and cell adhesion molecule from the immunoglobulin superfamily .
properties
CD66e is one of twelve representatives of CEACAM. It is in adenocarcinomas of the epithelial cells of the digestive tract and in adenocarcinomas of fetal colon cells formed. CD66e forms homodimers , is glycosylated and has a GPI anchor .
The adhesins of the type Escherichia coli Dr bind to CD66e.
