Company expansion in the United States and internationally began in the 1960s. Over the next six decades, CDM grew into a global company through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. In 2011 CDM took over the US traffic route planner Wilbur Smith Associates with 1,000 employees and renamed CDM Smith.
