Club Deportivo San Mateo Atenco , also known by the nickname Zapateros ( Spanish for shoemaker ) is a Mexican football club from the municipality of San Mateo Atenco in the state of México .

history

The club first played in the Tercera División and rose after winning the championship in the 1983/84 season in the then second-rate Segunda División , in which the team spent the following two seasons 1984/85 and 1985/86. After relegation from the second division in 1986 , the "Zapateros" played for a few years in the third-rate Segunda División 'B' before they were relegated from this league at the end of the 1988/89 season and since then over long stretches in the now fourth-rate Tercera Division where the team was last assigned to Group VI in the 2010/11 season.
