CFEX-FM (X 92.9 FM - Calgary's New Rock Alternative) is a privately owned radio broadcaster based in Calgary , Alberta , Canada . The station is operated by Harvard Broadcasting. The modern rock format on the transmitted FM -frequency 92.9 k with a transmission power of 100 W . The broadcast studios are located at 17th Avenue and 2nd Street in the Beltline District. This street is also known as "the Red Mile". The studios are located on the ground floor so that interested passers-by and fans can watch the DJs and selected guests.

history

In 2006 the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) approved the broadcaster, Harvard Broadcasting, to operate a radio station on FM 92.9. It started broadcasting at midnight on December 1st, 2007, with a live studio concert by the Canadian indie rock band Hot Hot Heat . The broadcaster chose the claim: "Calgary's New Rock Alternative".
