Hot Hot Heat is a Canadian indie rock group founded in 1999. Five albums have been released since then.
Band history
The group of four from the holiday resort Victoria near Vancouver belongs to the four albums Scenes One Through Thirteen (2001), Make Up the Break Down (2002), Elevator (2005) and Happiness Ltd. (2007) one of the internationally established indie representatives. When the group met in 1999, it was still incomplete. Steve Bays (keyboard, vocals), Paul Hawley (drums) and Dustin Hawthorne (bass) formed Hot Hot Heat after all three had previously played in other bands and were dissatisfied with their music. After the original singer left, Steve Bays replaced him. With Dante DeCaro, the group also got a guitarist, which had a significant influence on their style. This, however, told them in the middle of their recordings for the second album that he would leave the band. Luke Paquin became the new guitarist.
On June 11, 2010 the album Future Breeds was released in Germany. The band recorded Who You Calling Kid? which is also the theme song of the 2011 television series Mr. Young .
