CIP4
The CIP4 ( International C ooperation for the I ntegration of P rocesses in P repress, P ress and P ostpress ) is an association of manufacturers, consultants and users from the printing industry, with the aim based on generally accepted standards, process automation in the Advancing the graphic industry. Almost all internationally renowned manufacturers from the graphic industry are members of CIP4. All areas of the workflow in the graphics industry are represented, from design to prepress , digital and conventional printing processes to postpress.
CIP4 currently manages or develops 3 standards for the graphics industry:
- Job definition format including the job messaging format .
- PrintTalk , a standard for describing print jobs based on cXML .
- Print Production Format , a forerunner of the Job Definition Format for describing print jobs, often also called CIP3 format.
- Exchange Job Definition Format , XJDF, a further development and simplification of the Job Definition Format, JDF
- Exchange Job Messaging Format , XJMF, a further development and simplification of the Job Messaging Format, JMF
