COBie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

COBie (Construction Operations Building Information Exchange) is a data standard for building information ( BIM ) and defines non-geometric attributes for the requirements of facility management .

Goal setting

The aim is the standardized description of rooms and the technical building equipment in order to operate and maintain them. Typical information is the type of device, its manufacturer, the serial number and the maintenance interval. Cobie standardizes information such as company headquarters, warranties, spare parts lists and maintenance plans. This information is important for the operation and maintenance of real estate.

history

In June 2007, Bill East of the United States Army Corps of Engineers released Cobie as a Pilot Standard .

In December 2011, it was approved as NBIMS-US standard by the US National Institute of Building Sciences . Cobie can be represented in different formats, in spreadsheets and in IFC file format. At the beginning of 2013, BuildingSMART designed the simplified Cobie XML format COBieLite , which was published in April 2013.

In September 2014 it was adopted as a practice as a British standard ("BS 1192-4: 2014 Collaborative production of information Part 4: Fulfilling employer's information exchange requirements using COBie - Code of practice").
