CablePulse24 (CP24) is a Canadian , 24-hour, English-language news broadcaster based in Toronto , Ontario . The broadcaster's broadcast studios are located at 299 Queen Street West . The station covers the Greater Toronto Area and the southern part of the Province of Ontario. It also broadcasts local, national and international news. The station is operated by Bell Media . The station is fed into the local cable network, the station can also be received via satellite nationwide and on the Internet.

history

The station received broadcasting approval from the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in 1996. The station began broadcasting its programs under the Pulse 24 brand. On March 30, 1998, the station re-started as CablePulse24 ( CP24) and was initially owned by CHUM Limited and Sun Media.

On December 1, 2004, Chum Limited took over the remaining shares of Sun Media and thus obtained complete control of the station. On July 12, 2006, CTVglobemedia made a friendly takeover offer from the broadcaster for $ 1.7 billion. A year later on June 8, 2007, the CRTC approved the acquisition of CHUM Limited. The agency approved the takeover on condition that CTVglobemedia sell its CityTV channels. On June 12, 2007, Rogers announced that he would purchase CityTV stations from CTVglobemedia for $ 375 million. The station has been part of Bell Media since 2011. When CTVglobemedia was obliged to do so by the (CRTC) through the takeover of The Sports Network.

In addition to the general news and current breaking news , the following programs are broadcast:

  • Animal Housecalls - A broadcast where pet owners can call live if they have any health issues related to their pets. The show airs on CP24 and Animal Planet every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
  • AutoShop - a show about automobiles and automotive technology. This will be sent at 8 p.m. on Sunday evening.
  • App Central - Business news is also broadcast daily on BNN .
  • Before Breakfast - TV with the latest economic and political news, as well as weather and traffic news, on weekdays at 5 a.m.
  • CP24 Breakfast - Breakfast TV, which is broadcast on weekdays at 6:00 a.m.
  • CP24 Breakfast Weekend Edition - breakfast television which is broadcast at 7:00 a.m. on weekends.
  • Hot Property - A program in which current real estate offers are presented. Broadcast every Thursday at 7.15pm.
  • On the Quarter - A special program for private savers and investors, with asset managers from Toronto-Dominion Bank . This broadcast is broadcast every three months.
  • Sex Matters , airs Thursday and Friday evenings at 10:30 p.m.
  • Wylde on Health - health magazine which is broadcast every Friday evening at 7:10 p.m.
  • Webnation is broadcast on Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.

The station has had a Bell 206 helicopter since 2008 , which is fully equipped for journalistic reporting.

Receptibility

The station is fed into the regional digital cable network. The station can also be received nationwide via Bell TV and Shaw Direct via satellite. The program is broadcast on the Internet and fed into the broadband networks of Bell Fibe TV and MTS as IPTV .
