The DF11 is a diesel-electric , Chinese locomotive. It was developed by the Qishuyan locomotive factory based on the DF9 and is used by the China Railway . Commissioning began in December 1992 at the Guangshen Railway .

General

This locomotive series was built for traffic on the Guangshen Railway , where it was supposed to transport passenger trains at 160 km / h. A first prototype was built on the basis of a DF9 series locomotive in 1990. The top speed was increased from 140 km / h to 160 km / h by changing the engine and transmission. The first locomotive, DF11 0001, was completed in December 1992 and extensively tested until August 1993. The last locomotive was put into service in 2005. A total of 459 copies were made.

The locomotive is equipped with a 16V280ZJA diesel engine, a JF204C generator and six ZD106 DC traction motors . The DF11 can pull a 640 t passenger train (12 cars) at 167 km / h on the plain, and a 1,100 t passenger train (20 cars) at 143 km / h.

DF11-0400 was irreparably damaged in the Zibo railway accident in 2008 and was then scrapped.
