CRISAT

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CRISAT (Abbreviation for Collaborative Research Into Small Arms Technology ) is the EU - NATO standard in the manufacture of military equipment.

The CRISAT protection is defined as a 1.6 mm titanium plate, which is supplemented by 20 layers of Kevlar . This protection corresponded to the body armor of soldiers of the Warsaw Pact at that time .

The penetration of the CRISAT-target with a weapon - Munitions -combination forms a reference value here as the common NATO ammunition in caliber 9 × 19 mm not being able to penetrate this goal.

Ammunition types such as the 5.7 × 28 mm or 4.6 × 30 mm in combination with the FN P90 or HK MP7 penetrate the CRISAT protection from a distance of 200 m.
