Cabañaquinta is one of 18 parroquias in the municipality of Aller in the autonomous region of Asturias in Spain .

geography

Cabañaquinta ( Asturian Cabanaquinta ) is the capital and administrative seat of the municipality of Aller in the autonomous province of Asturias in Spain. It also forms a parroquia of this parish.

Cabañaquinta has 1,484 inhabitants (2011) on an area of ​​4.71 km². It lies at 427  m and includes the districts ( barrios ) Vallina, El Boleru, Parrielles, Veguina, Rozá, Espineo, La Sierra and Carriques. Cabañaquinta is 44 km from the provincial capital Oviedo .

history

Cabañaquinta has been the capital of the municipality of Aller since 1869 (until then it was Collanzo in what is now Parroquia Santibáñez de La Fuente ). The parish belonged to Vega until 1887 , but became independent from it in 1892. In 1899 the construction of a separate church began, which was completed on August 28, 1902 and inaugurated in 1904.
