Cabannes is an impact crater on the southern hemisphere on the far side of the moon. The 'Cabannes J' satellite crater adjoins its southeastern edge and connects it to the Berlage crater, which has been severely scarred by impacts . The Bellinsgauzen crater joins directly to the east and the large formation of the Antoniadi crater extends to the south .
The crater rim of Cabannes is eroded by later impacts and the southern rim is covered by a small crater. Even so, the formation was not significantly deformed by other later craters.
