Caborca , officially Heroica Caborca , is a city in the Mexican state of Sonora . It has 59,922 inhabitants and is located in the municipality of Caborca , whose administrative seat it is. The city was founded in 1688 by Francisco Eusebio Kino. The city is affected by Carretera Federal 2 . In June 2020, one group of armed supporters of the Sinola drug cartel was ambushed. The attackers were driven into town in 20 vans and set fire to buildings, vehicles and a gas station, and at least 10 people were killed.
