The Cadwalader Beach is nearly 1.5 km long beach on the south side of Beaufort Island in the Antarctic Ross Archipelago . The beach is populated by a colony of Adelie penguins and is easily accessible from the water when the conditions are free of ice.
Participants in the 1958 to 1959 campaign as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him after Captain John Cadwalader (* 1922) of the United States Navy , who, like the previous Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1955-1958) stood by in an advisory capacity.
