Caenomorpha (also in the German sludge screws or animals) is a genus animal-like protists from the strain of ciliates (ciliates).
Occurrence
Caenomorpha are often very numerous in their areas of distribution. These include, above all, the sediment of small ponds, the sludge from reservoirs, ponds, ponds or from rivers, or sewage. There the animals screw their way through the mud or the open water. They belong to the rather few protists that occur in polysa-probed waters.
species
Caenomorpha is a species-rich genus. These include, for example:
- Caenomorpha medusula
- Caenomorpha lauterborni "two-spined screw animal"
- Caenomorpha uniserialis "thorn-mud screw "
