The Café Chorale is a choir founded in 1994 in Costa Rica . Its members are students and professionals from the center of Costa Rica who are interested in singing.

The choir deals with the dissemination and research of the diverse vocal literature from the Renaissance to contemporary music of the 20th century and above all with the preservation of a collection of pieces of music originating in Latin America . The choir has received national and international awards for its work in this area, including the National Prize for Music in Costa Rica in 1999, 2003 and 2007.

Choir director is David Ramírez , who studied at the University of California in Los Angeles . He is now Professor of Choral Conducting at the National University in Costa Rica, where he teaches courses on vocal research.
