The Caisse intercommunale de pensions (CIP), based in Lausanne, is an independent Swiss pension fund . It insures the staff of 317 municipalities, public institutions and non-profit organizations in the canton of Vaud under the 2nd pillar .
The Caisse intercommunale de pensions was founded in 1924 as a joint venture by the most important municipalities in Vaud and is organized in the form of a public law institution with its own legal personality . At the end of 2008, it had a total of 9,047 actively insured persons and 4,337 pension recipients. The total assets amounted to almost 1.9 billion Swiss francs.
Legal bases
The legal basis is formed by the Federal Act on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans , the Federal Act on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans and the associated ordinances. The legal bases also include the statutes and the regulations of the Caisse intercommunale de pensions.
organization
The top management body of the CIP is the seven-member Board of Directors . This consists of three employer and employee representatives each and one cantonal representative and, with the exception of the cantonal representative, is elected for four years by the delegates' assembly, which is made up of equal numbers of employer and employee representatives.
The operational management of the CIP has been delegated to the Retraites Populaires in Lausanne. This public law institution, founded in 1907, specializes in life and social insurance as well as in the pension system and is on the one hand specialized in the administration of pension institutions, on the other hand also active in the insurance and pension sector itself.
