The Retraites Populaires based in Lausanne is a Swiss pension - and insurance companies . Its core activity includes, on the one hand, pension and insurance solutions within the framework of the 2nd and 3rd pillars . On the other hand, Retraites Populaires specializes in the administration of public and private pension funds and insurance institutions in the canton of Vaud and, among other things, takes on the operational management of the cantonal pension fund Caisse de pensions de l'État de Vaud (CPEV) and the inter-communal pension fund Caisse intercommunale de pensions (CIP).

The Retraites Populaires was founded in 1907 as a cantonal institution with the purpose of promoting and developing pension provision in the canton of Vaud. It is organized in the form of a public corporation with its own legal personality and employs around 300 people. In 2008, the company generated premium income of 499.3 million Swiss francs. The investments at the end of 2008 amounted to around 3.7 billion Swiss francs.
