It was founded in 1952 when the law on the Vaudois pension fund came into force. Several public pension funds were combined in it. The total assets amounted to 6.7 billion Swiss francs. This makes the Caisse de pensions de l'État de Vaud the largest public pension fund in western Switzerland .
Legal bases
The legal basis is formed by the Federal Law on Occupational Old-Age, Survivors 'and Disability Pension Plans (BVG) , the Federal Law on Freedom of Movement in Occupational Old-Age, Survivors' and Disability Pension Plans (Freedom of Movement Act, FZG) , the associated ordinances and the law on the pension fund of the canton of Vaud . The CPEV regulations are also part of the legal basis.
organization
The highest governing body of the CPEV is the six-member Board of Directors . This is composed equally of three employer and employee representatives and half is elected by the government council of the canton of Vaud and half by the 46-member assembly of delegates, which is also composed of equal numbers for four years.
The operational management of the CPEV has been delegated to the Retraites Populaires in Lausanne. This public law institution, founded in 1907, specializes in life and social insurance as well as in the pension system and is on the one hand specialized in the administration of pension institutions, on the other hand also active in the insurance and pension sector itself.
