The Cala Ferrera is a place and a bay in the east of the Balearic island of Mallorca .
Location and description
The place Cala Ferrera belongs to the area of the municipality Felanitx and is located in the east of Cala d'Or , which lies in the area of the municipality Santanyí . The place Cala Ferrara is the part east of the Avenida Felanitx around the Cala Ferrera and the Cala Serena .
history
Planning for an urbanization began in 1966. The place was built between 1970 and 1973 on an area of 12.7 hectares as a tourist and holiday resort. In 1986 an expansion in Sivines de Baix was approved. The hotel and apartments together have around 4,000 beds.
