Calamine is a location for Grand Cru - wines in the Lavaux on the territory of the former municipality of Epesses in today Bourg-en-Lavaux in the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland .

The steeply sloping location has an area of approx. 16 hectares. It extends south of the Route de la Corniche, which runs through the village center of Epesses, to the shores of Lake Geneva and is bordered to the east by the Grand Cru location of Dézaley and to the west by the former municipal boundary between Epesses and Riex . The vineyards north and west of the Calamin belong to the Epesses appellation .

Only dry white wines are grown within the Calamin . The vineyards are planted with 98% Chasselas and 2% Viognier . The soil is dominated by a very thick layer of earth, which was created by previous landslides and makes the location particularly fertile. The steep south-facing slope and Lake Geneva, which acts as a mirror surface, result in strong sun exposure. The Calamin wines are strong, spicy, mineral, with a slightly bitter taste.
