Calatia
Calatia was an ancient city in Italy in the Campania countryside . It was located southeast of Capua on the Via Appia on the way to Caudium and Benevento near today's S. Giacomo delle Galazze, Galazia, about 2 km southeast of Caserta .
313 BC Calatia was conquered by the Romans , but fell back together with Capua during the Second Punic War. In the 2nd century BC Calatia became a Roman Municipium , 59 BC. Chr. Colonia .
The titular diocese of Calatia of the Roman Catholic Church goes back to a late antique bishopric of the city .
