Way of life
The moths can be found in spring. They like to suck liquids from the damp ground. Occasionally they also visit flowers. The caterpillars feed on the leaves of the white mulberry ( Morus alba ) as well as Morus australis and Morus acidosa . They hide during the feeding breaks by cutting and folding the side of a leaf, creating a tubular shelter, which in the adult caterpillars is also spun with silk threads.
