Calkoen
The Calkoen are an Amsterdam patrician and regent family that also belongs to the Dutch nobility .
history
The family was previously called van Dort (h) and was based in the County of Zutphen . The family believed they came from the old nobility. Around 1606 they came to Amsterdam to gain a foothold in the city government. The family was introduced into the new Dutch nobility in 1816 with the title Baron and the predicate Jonkheer . Today the two families Calkoen and van Beeck-Calkoen exist.
