The Serie A 1989/90 was the 58th season in the top Italian football -Spielklasse of Lords. It began on August 27, 1989 and ended on April 29, 1990 due to the upcoming 1990 World Cup .

As the climbers came Genoa , the AS Bari , Udinese Calcio and US Cremonese from the Serie B this. The season as champions ended the SSC Napoli and became the successor to Inter Milan . Napoli and AC Milan qualified for the European Champions Cup as winners of the 1989/90 European Champions Cup . Inter, AS Roma , Atalanta Bergamo and FC Bologna qualified for the UEFA Cup . Via the Coppa Italia , Juventus Turin secured participation in the European Cup Winners 'Cup of the following year, in which Sampdoria Genoa also won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1989/90 . Udine, Hellas Verona , Ascoli Calcio and Cremona had to relegate to Serie B.
