history

The company was founded in 1995 as Callcom AG and in 1997 by RSL COM Europe Ltd. , an international telecommunications company, acquired a majority stake. The company, initially renamed RSL COM Schweiz AG in 1998, expanded in the Swiss telecommunications market with telecommunications services for both the intercarrier market and the retail market.

In 2000 the company decided to concentrate exclusively on the intercarrier market, which was implemented in early 2001. After the British-American RSL COM Group filed for bankruptcy in March 2001, RSL COM Schweiz AG was taken over by a Swiss investor group in May 2001 and renamed Calltrade Carrier Services AG .
