Calum Kerr

Calum Kerr (born April 5, 1972 in the Scottish Borders ) is a Scottish politician of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

Kerr was born in the Scottish Borders in 1972 . He studied history at St Andrews University and then worked for a telecommunications company. Kerr is married and has a father of three.

Political career

In the run-up to the referendum on Scottish independence in 2014 , Kerr was active in the Yes Scottish Borders initiative , with which the SNP campaigned for an independent Scotland in the region. In the British general election in 2015 , Kerr ran for the SNP in his home constituency of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk . He stood against the Liberal Democrat Michael Moore , who represented the constituency since its introduction in 2005 in the British House of Commons . Despite the massive gains in votes by the SNP in these elections, Wilson barely achieved the highest percentage of votes and subsequently moved into the House of Commons for the first time. He acts as group spokesman for the environment, food and rural affairs.
