Calvaire (Gahard)
The Calvaire in Gahard , a French commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany , was built in the 15th century. The six meter high Calvaire stands behind the entrance to the cemetery.
The base on which the octagonal shaft stands can be reached via a three-step substructure. It ends in four shields, above which the cover plate, which is adapted to the shape of the shaft, protrudes. The crucifixion scene is carved from a single, openwork block of granite . On both sides of the crucified one stand on slightly curved consoles Mary and probably Mary Magdalene .
