Camarón de Tejeda , also known as Camarón for short , is a city in the Mexican state of Veracruz and the seat of the municipality of Camarón de Tejeda . The name refers to the large number of shrimp (Spanish camarón ) that occur in a small river in the area.

Camarón de Tejeda was the scene of the battle in Camerone between the Mexican Army and the French Foreign Legion on April 30, 1863.
