Camperdown Dock
The Camperdown Dock is a harbor basin in the Scottish city of Dundee in the council area of the same name . In 1989 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.
history
Construction of the Camperdown Dock began in 1833. The Scottish architect James Leslie is responsible for the planning . As a result of the city's economic depression, construction was suspended. The construction, now directed by Charles Ower , was continued in 1857. The facility was opened in 1865. The Victoria Dock , which is under construction to the west, was separated by a provisional barrier at the time.

The Camperdown Dock is located on the eastern edge of Dundee city center. The entrance is via a 16.5 m wide swing gate at the south end. Another gate of the same passage width leads to the Victoria Dock to the west. The 5.5 m deep basin has an approximately rectangular area of 3.4 hectares , resulting in a quay length of around 740 m.
