Stone box from Västra Balltorp
The north-west-south-east oriented stone box from Västra Balltorp , which was inventoried in the 1910s, is located in the forest south of Mölndal near Gothenburg in Västra Götaland in Sweden .
In the 1930s she was examined by the teacher Johan Alin. In 1933 he left a description of the stone box ( Swedish Hällkista ) in the local newspaper Fæsbiærgha. Back then, dense forest surrounded the heavily damaged stone box, which was difficult to locate.
There are two tall slabs on the east side. One is about two meters long, the second about 1.2 m long. On the west side only the remains of two small plates are left. On the north side there is the longest, split plate as an end plate. Pieces of capstones are scattered inside and outside the box. The rectangle obtained measures approximately 3.5 × 2.5 meters. Alin estimated that it was originally about three feet longer.
