Can Yücel
Can Yücel (* 1926 in Istanbul , † 1999 in Izmir ) was a Turkish author of political poetry.
He mainly published volumes of poetry. Yavra appeared in 1950 . From the 1970s until his death, numerous other works appeared, including some essays, for example on his poetic work Can'dan Yazılar .
Following Wilpert , Yücel's eloquent political poetry had the “style of a modern vagabond”.
Yücel was a son of Hasan Ali Yücel , the founder of the Turkish village institutes and Minister of Education of Turkey.
