Canal 3 is a bilingual private radio station in Switzerland . It supplies the agglomerations of Biel and Grenchen as well as the former districts of Nidau , Büren , Aarberg , La Neuveville and Erlach .

history

Canal 3 has been on the air since February 29, 1984. In 2007 Canal 3 was able to increase the number of listeners significantly and was therefore awarded the Radio Of The Year Award 2007 for the program in French.

The station broadcasts on two frequencies and transmits one program each in Swiss-German and French .

For a long time, the station belonged to the Bernese Espace Media Groupe . The current owners are Gassmann AG, one third each, the Cortesi office and a group of small shareholders from Biel .

Canal 3 Digital has been broadcasting on the 3 layer (channel 8B) of Swissmediacast in the DAB + standard since January 2017.
