Canciones andaluzas para 2 guitarras ( Spanish "Andalusian songs for two guitars") is the first of four albums by the brothers Paco de Lucía and Ramón de Algeciras , which were released between 1967 and 1969.
It is a flamenco percussion album, the two guitarists are supported by percussive elements: the zapateado des bailaor Antonio Valdepeñas is accompanied by Pilar La Cubanita and Antoñita Imperio with castanets and clapping hands.
All facets of flamenco , cante, toque and baile are voiced. The material comes from Andalusian popular music.
At the urging of the Philips record company , all four of the brothers' albums are quite commercially oriented. Nevertheless, in the opinion of the professor of flamenco guitar Julia Banzi, the albums show the “future genius, originality and technical skills” of Paco de Lucía.
