Canon Powershot SX series
The cameras of the Canon PowerShot S (X) IS digital camera series are so-called superzoom or bridge cameras with a high optical zoom factor and many setting options. Their appearance is based on the SLR cameras . All models in this series have built-in image stabilization and a manual mode. The first generation from the years 2004–2007 was called S [x] (S plus one-digit number). This nomenclature was given up in 2008, because a Powershot series S [xx] (with a two-digit number), the S series , has existed in parallel since 1999 .
