The Rhaetian Cantonal and Regional Hospital on Loëstrasse is the largest New Building project in Chur. In 1935 the Zurich architect Fred G. Brun and Rudolf Gaberel (1882–1963) from Graubünden were commissioned with the execution. The building, which was built between 1938 and 1941, was expanded into a ring-shaped complex in several stages. Between 1993 and 2000 the architects Silvia Gmür and Livio Vacchini built the new ward block.
