Grain cuboid

The Kornquader district is part of the city of Chur in the Swiss canton of Graubünden . The field name Kornquader indicates that there must have been one or more fields on which corn was grown. Since the Rhine flooded the Rhine plain for a long time, the fields used to be laid out on the debris cones on the right bank of the Rhine.

The Kornquader district borders on the Chur City, Sommerau , Araschgen -Rosenhügel and Industrie- Chur West quarters and is divided into the smaller Westkornquader, Ostkornquader and Kornquader-Zentrum quarters. The district includes the valley station of the Chur-Dreibündenstein AG mountain railways, the town hall, the Chur barracks and numerous bars.
