The Graubünden University of Education (PHGR, Italian : Alta scuola pedagogica dei Grigioni , Rhaeto-Romanic : Scola auta da pedagogia dal Grischun ) is a training center for teachers at primary school and kindergarten level in Chur . As the only public Swiss university, degrees are possible in the three cantonal languages: German , Italian and Romansh.

education

The basic pedagogical training to become a teacher for primary school and kindergarten takes three years and ends with a bachelor's degree. The training at the PHGR is strongly job-related. In the first and third year of study, students do practical assignments in school classes at various target levels.

further education

The further education department offers optional courses for teachers. This includes certificate and master’s courses for additional qualifications (school management, school curative education) and language skills. Further training courses for teachers and school authorities are carried out on behalf of cantons or municipalities.

Research and services

The research and development department specializes in the areas of school development and multilingualism. She is currently working on projects on multilingualism and bilingual teaching, school development in peripheral Alpine regions and education for sustainable development in the field of environment and technology.

The Languages ​​Office has advisory and linguistic tasks for the school management and students. She works closely with the Multilingualism Department.

On September 24, 2010 a new building with two lecture halls and a media library was opened.
