The Canopus Islands are a group of small islands off the Mawson Coast of the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . They are located immediately north of Klungholmane in the eastern part of Holme Bay .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs from the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named it after the star Canopus in 1959 .
