The Canyon Lake is a lake in Kenora District in the southwest of the Canadian province of Ontario .
Canyon Lake is located 14 miles northwest of Vermilion Bay . The elongated lake has an east-west extension of 22 km. It is located in the area of the Canadian Shield at an altitude of 380 m . The Canyon River flows through the lake. It flows into the western end of the lake and leaves Canyon Lake on the north shore of Outlet Bay . The lake belongs to the catchment area of the Wabigoon River .
The Canyon settlement is centrally located on the south bank. The place McIntosh is on the eastern end of the lake and is about the Ontario Highway 647 accessible from Vermilion Bay from. The Canadian National Railway runs along the south bank of the lake.
The lake is a destination for fishing tourists. The following types of fish are caught in Canyon Lake: muscle lung , eyeglasses , black bass and herring vendace .
