The Kenora District is an administrative district in the northwest of the Canadian province of Ontario . The main town is Kenora . The population is 57,607 (2011), the area 407,213.01 km², which corresponds to a population density of 0.1 inhabitants per km². The district was formed in 1907 from parts of the Rainy River District . It covers 38% of the area of ​​the province, is larger than Germany and almost as big as California . The area north of the Albany River , sometimes referred to as Patricia Portion , became part of Ontario in 1912.
