The Temiskaming District is an administrative district in the northeast of the Canadian province of Ontario . The main town is Temiskaming Shores . The population is 32,634 (2001), the area 13,299.92 km², which corresponds to a population density of 2.5 inhabitants per km². The district was created in 1912 from parts of the Algoma District , the Nipissing District and the Sudbury District . In 1921 part was ceded to the newly formed Cochrane District .
