Lanark County is a county in the southeast of the Canadian province of Ontario . The county seat is Perth . The population is 65,667 (2011), the area 3033.82 km², which corresponds to a population density of 21.6 inhabitants per km². The county is named after the town of Lanark in Scotland . Lanark County is one of the main producing areas of the Canadian maple syrup and calls itself "Ontario's maple syrup capital".
