Albany River
The Albany River is a river in the north of the Canadian province of Ontario .
It has its origin in Lake St. Joseph . With a total length of 980 kilometers (from the source of the Cat River ), it is the longest river in Ontario. Its course initially leads north. After it has merged with the Ogoki River , it flows in a northeasterly direction and finally flows into James Bay near the Indian village of Kashechewan First Nation . The river is navigable on the lower 400 kilometers in summer. Its major tributaries are the Cat River, Kenogami River , Ogoki River, and Drowning River .
The upper reaches of the Albany River lies in the Albany River Provincial Park .
